VI all-Russian contest of student projects on hydropower, "Energy development"
Group "RusHydro" — one of the largest Russian energy holdings. RusHydro is a leader in energy production based on renewable sources, developing generation on the basis of energy of water flows, tidal, wind and geothermal energy.
The competition of student projects "Energy of development" is part of a comprehensive charitable program "Clean energy". The main objective of this competition is a long-term professional training for work in the field of hydropower by identifying talented young people, developing a penchant for scientific and practical activities in this field. In the six years of existence, the competition has acquired the status of Russian, more than 100 universities in the country have accepted invitations to participate, more than 600 students sent their work.
The competition consists of two stages. In the correspondence stage of the work was accepted undergraduate and graduate students in several ways. Were proposed ideas, providing help in the investigation of accidents, incidents and accidents in the workplace.
The results of the correspondence stage RusHydro has invited 14 contestants to Moscow to participate in a full-time protection projects, which took place from 28 February to 3 March 2015. The geography of participants is wide – from Smolensk to Blagoveshchensk.
It was further proposed to solve one of the proposed "RusHydro" tasks. The choice fell on the forecasting of equipment failures and the decision to send it for maintenance and repair.
The decision was based on technical developments in the field of fuzzy logic, which were made in the computer science Department. The proposed solution allows not only to consider the statistics of failures and performance of equipment, but also rely on the opinion of expert-system owner, which is expressed in vague and imprecise values, poorly amenable to formalization.
On the final day of competition, the participants visited the exhibition and conference "Power-Gen Russia" and "HydroVision Russia". The exhibition-conference expert session R&D projects. Each of the contestants talked with professional experts, investors and employers (representatives of the SKOLKOVO, Moscow, MEPhI, etc.), which gave its advice regarding the development of the project and presented the assessment of the project according to three criteria (relevance of the problem, the applicability of the solutions and the novelty). Also at the conference, all participants, joining the team of "RusHydro" participated in the team competition according to the technology of Delta Streamline (online business game).
Thus, for the interesting and promising ideas Igor Sanahin became the winner of VI all-Russian competition of student projects on hydropower, "Energy development". The winners of this competition provide investment for development projects and offer high-paying jobs in leading energy companies.
